Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: July 2026
We want everyone who visits our website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding. Martyn Percy and George Percy are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
1. Our Goal
To help us make this website a positive place for everyone, we aim to align our content with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities and user-friendly for everyone.
While we are a small, individual, non-commercial website and do not have a dedicated technical team, we strive to meet these standards wherever possible.
2. Accessibility Features on This Website
We design and update this website with accessibility in mind. Some of the features we focus on include:
Alternative Text: We aim to provide descriptive alternative text (alt text) for all meaningful images so screen readers can describe them to visually impaired users.
Colour Contrast: We carefully select text and background colours to ensure there is high contrast, making the text easy to read.
Simple Layout: We keep our website structure simple and consistent, making it easier to navigate.
Clear Language: We write our content in plain English, avoiding unnecessary jargon, to make it accessible to as many readers as possible.
Keyboard Navigation: Because this website is built on the Squarespace platform, it supports standard keyboard navigation and zoom functions built into modern web browsers.
3. Platform Limitations (Squarespace)
This website is built on the Squarespace platform. While we do our best to ensure our custom content is accessible, some technical aspects of the website's underlying code, layout templates, and cookie banners are controlled by Squarespace.
If you experience any platform-specific accessibility issues (such as difficulties with keyboard focus or form structures), please let us know so we can see if there is a workaround or report it to Squarespace support.
4. Let Us Know What You Think
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter any accessibility barriers or find something difficult to use, please get in touch with us:
