About

Martyn William Percy is a British academic, educator, social scientist, and Anglican (i.e., Episcopalian) priest. He served as Principal of Cuddesdon from 2004 to 2014 and as the 45th Dean of Christ Church, Oxford, from 2014 to 2022. Percy's writings and teaching address the fields of critical ecclesiology, issues in Anglican identity, Christianity in contemporary culture, as well as the sociology and anthropology of religion.

He is the Provost-Theologian for Ming Hua Theological College and Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui, and Professor of Religion and Culture at the University of Saint Joseph in Macau. He also holds research and honorary appointments at the University of Bern, the James Hutton Institute, and the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe.
